About Us

Set up in 2006, Aquila Alternatives was born out of a desire to pass on our passion for working with disadvantaged and challenging children and young people. We wanted to use our experience and the experience of others to inspire motivate and enthuse others to carry out this work.

We provide services to organisations who work with vulnerable and challenging children and young people. Our vision is to provide a range of high quality training and development opportunities, that empower practitioners in the children’s workforce to actively promote positive outcomes for the children and young people they care for.

Aquila Alternatives is managed by three highly experienced child care professionals with a belief and a passion for helping and inspiring others to work with vulnerable children and young people. As an organisation, we can offer an unrivalled, in-depth and hands on experience of work and management in a variety of projects with the most demanding and challenging young people. Over the years we have collectively developed a range of skills aimed at supporting and training childcare professionals to improve and extend their practice.

We strongly believe that the most vulnerable children need the highest quality care and that practitioners providing this care need the highest quality training and development opportunities.
