This level course is designed for managers and aspirant managers who have responsibility for managing services for vulnerable children and young people. The courses provide opportunities for managers to develop their leadership and management skills and to look at social care issues from a management position. These course are run at Level 4/5.

This course is designed to help managers and aspirant managers develop confidence and assertiveness skills, particularly around the areas of managing staff and of working in a multi disciplinary setting with other professionals. Leadership and management is a blend of various skills, but confidence and assertiveness are core qualities that are vital for all those who have management and supervisory responsibilities. Confidence comes from knowledge and experience and assertiveness is clearly a skill which can be learnt, however both are largely dependent on how we feel about ourselves.


Safeguarding for Managers (Level 5)

An in-depth look at the area of child protection from the manager’s position of responsibility. Looking at how planning can assist and looking at how staff training can assist. Understanding how to deal with incidents and difficult situations, understanding what to report and when to report. Looking at issues of dangerous practice.
