The new Government vetting and barring guidance was issued in March 2010 and comes into force next month, July 2010. The guidance can be downloaded from www.isa-gov.org.uk or from our website by following this link. It contains essential information for all managers and employers of any services working with children about the law changes and about substantial changes in responsibilities"

Maggie Atkinson takes up post as Children’s Commissioner for England
Dr Maggie Atkinson took up her post as the new Children’s Commissioner for England yesterday, 1 March. Dr Atkinson replaced Sir Al Aynsley-Green who retired at the end of his five-year term of office.
