 Aquila Alternatives have released two new exciting  course profiles this week:

Playing Outside the Box

There is a growing body of research that has begun to identify the disturbing consequences of children and young people being denied access to stimulating play experiences. Many young people within the ‘looked after’ system need to experience an environment which allows them to re-discover the childhood they may have lost. In order to achieve this organisations need to have a skilled workforce that not only understands the importance of play and exploration has in developmental terms, but also has the ability to engage children and young people at an appropriate level

Managing People

This course is designed to help managers and aspirant managers develop confidence and assertiveness skills, particularly around the areas of managing staff and of working in a multi disciplinary setting with other professionals. Leadership and management is a blend of various skills, but confidence and assertiveness are core qualities that are vital for all those who have management and supervisory responsibilities. Confidence comes from knowledge and experience and assertiveness is clearly a skill which can be learnt, however both are largely dependent on how we feel about ourselves.
